Pixel Tracking Consent Info

Website Tracking Pixels are under increased scrutiny as a growing number of lawsuits surface “alleging that pixel tracking technology on websites violates legacy privacy statutes, such as statutes designed to protect against wiretapping.”   CU*Answers Internal Auditor, Patrick Sickels writes in an informative article.

Web Services Team is considering the best way to address this topic and let credit unions determine their own risk tolerance.  For now, our team’s approach is to enable a “WPConsent” plugin on your site that adds a consent bar to the site footer which blocks Google Analytics and other known tracking pixels from sharing data with those services unless the consent is given.  Please contact us if you’d us to add the plugin to your website.
