What is Responsive Web Design?

You may have noticed references to “Responsive” site design in a few of our recent portfolio posts and wondered what it was all about.  Put simply, it is a design technique that allows us to reformat site content in a variety of ways for an array of different screen sizes.  It means we can use a three column layout for a desktop web browser, and show that same content as a single column design for mobile users.   One major advantage of this over other static mobile sites we’ve utilized in the past is that there is only one place to manage the content since it is shared between the multiple layouts.   Responsive design use is trending across the web, so keep an eye out on your favorite sites.  For some examples, check out these recent sites in our portfolio.
