Using WordPress Page/Post Revisions

wordpress page revisions screenshotWordPress has a great feature for those of us who aren’t perfect.  It’s called Revisions.  It’s available for both pages and posts on the edit screens.  It allows comparison of the current saved version of content to a previous version.  This is especially helpful for those times when the page was perfect before an accidental keypress wreaked havoc on the page shown in the editor.  All is not lost.  Simply click on the linked date in the revision area from before the chaos started and a screen appears showing the code from that date.  You can then click the “restore” link from the list at the bottom of the page to return the page to its earlier state.  For the truly adventurous who want to see exactly where things went wrong, there is a “Compare Revisions” button that will highlight the differences between the two revisions you select.
