In the English language, colors are used just about everywhere, as both adjectives and verbs. Seeing red. Show me the green. Yellow-bellied coward. We constantly associate colors with different feelings, emotions, and dispositions. This study, while not the first of its kind to tackle color associations, provides a nice one-stop source for a number of keyword/color pairings pertinent to the financial services industry. Blue, for example, has a very strong association with both “security” and “trust.” Is it any wonder then that seven of the ten largest banks and nine of the ten largest credit unions incorporate blue into their branding? Blue might be the safe choice, but perhaps green or white might not be bad alternatives to set you apart from the crowd. As you think about a rebranding or a new web design, consider the impact of color.

Spring is here and Grand Trunk CU has a new web site! Based on one of our library themes, the new grandtrunkcu.com is powered by WordPress with SiteControl.
Oak Trust Credit Union is one of our new Total Marketing Solutions (TMS) partners. The first phase of TMS is getting the site up to date with WordPress and SiteControl. To that end, we completely overhauled oaktrust.com with a more edgy design. Because Oak Trust’s existing site was not that old, we opted to maintain a lot of the design layout and elements of the previous design to keep a sense of familiarity with the members. The most notable changes are moving away from a table-based layout and into a modern HTML5/CSS3 design.
Introducing the new Illinois Educators Credit Union! With their newly expanded field of membership that includes all IEA members, Illinois Educators CU needed a new site and a new brand. To facilitate the quick turnaround, IECU opted for an existing library theme. We then customized this theme with a few modifications and color changes. The site is built on WordPress with SiteControl and includes all kinds of other WordPress and CSS3 goodness.
